Thank You Denver for re-electing me to City Council!

I am proud of Denver — a city of diverse neighborhoods, each with history, character, charm and a special sense of community. For 32 years, my husband Howard and I have made Park Hill home. Our children, Jared and Hannah graduated from East High.

In 2003, Denver voters honored me by electing me to the City Council. As a former schoolteacher and passionate education advocate, my work has been guided by several key beliefs:

• Denver must be family-friendly. Denver's children thrive when they have high-quality, safe places to learn and play.
• Healthy families and strong businesses drive out crime.
• Every resident deserves to live in a safe neighborhood.

I am proud of the work I have done to serve you as your At-large Councilwoman. And now I will continue my work to:

• Make the Denver Preschool Program a reality for our children.
• Maximize educational opportunities for our children.
• Increase police presence in crime-ridden areas.
• Redevelop all of Colfax Avenue from west to east and take lessons learned to other aging corridors, such as Federal Boulevard.
